Main menu

GLiMR's Main menu gives you fast access to case and contact information via multiple routes.

You can build searchable, re-usable pools of contacts with address histories and case histories.

Case details custom tab

GLiMR's Case details page shows key information about the case such as the stage in its life cycle, its outcome, and the key people or organisations involved.

You can also define your own custom data fields to suit your business, and of course users can store free text notes against each case.

You can easily see the history of who did what and when from the Tasks tab on the Case details page. Other tabs show you a case's deadlines, the documents produced, and the history of status changes.

Cases in GLiMR are progressed by adding tasks. A task may be used to log an action, produce one or more documents, set a deadline, update a case's status, or all of these.

Documents can be produced singly, but GLiMR also allows you to work with multiple documents from different cases in a single operation.

Other operational features

There are many other features in GLiMR, including:
  • An appointment diary component that allows you to arrange meetings between the parties involved in a case, together with a facility to manage your own list of personnel who might need to be present. You can even tag your personnel with their skills/qualifications and let GLiMR match them to those required for a given appointment.
  • GLiMR supports add-on code units that can be "hot-plugged" into the Case details page. These can be used to make significant modifications to the system without requiring deployment of a new version of the whole code base.
  • Physical object tracking - where necessary, GLiMR will support tracking the location of physical objects such as paper files related to cases. Barcoding can be employed to speed up tracking operations and case searches.
Some aspects of GLiMR have been initially developed in response to bespoke client needs, but have always been approached using the philosophy of maximising flexibility. A few examples are given below:
  • Online submissions - GLiMR has been successfully integrated with a public facing website to allow customers to create cases through an online portal (see the Case Study section).
  • Fee payments - Businesses can be configured to track the receipt of fee payments when cases are created and at key points in their progression. This can be integrated with an online payment gateway for easy settlement, as well as interfaces for back office reconciliation (see the Case Study section).
Reporting can in principle be delivered using any package capable of interfacing with an RDBMS. One option used successfully has been SSRS, which has the potential advantage of allowing report customisation using the Report Builder package.
